TESTIMONIALS
I dream of Africa. I yearn for the African bush. I want to be woken up by the glorious rays of the African sunrise and settle into the evening by the soft tones of the African sunset. I want to sit outside my tent of my luxury safari and listen to the sounds of the wild and ponder the exploits of great African explorers like Livingstone. I want to go on a South African safari. I think it's time to go on holiday...
I did eventually take my African vacation in South Africa. I did not however get to go on a luxury tented safari. This was largely due to time and mainly financial constraints. What I did do though was go on a safari day tour... I was surprised to discover that I could go on a one day safari at a private game reserve just two hours from Cape Town.
While this was not exactly Kruger National Park and did not fit into my vision of the great African safari adventure, it was a great practical substitute. It gave me the opportunity to spend the day in the African bush looking at animals such as Rhino, buffalo and yes, lion roaming freely. I did feel a sense of adventure while sitting on the safari Land Rover while our very knowledgeable khaki clad guide made the African landscape come alive with his interesting facts and stories.
I felt a sense of awe while looking at a very regal giraffe from just metres away. It was then that I realised that in this one day I was living out my great African safari adventure. I did not get to follow in the footsteps of Livingstone on my South African holiday, but I did spend one glorious day on safari...
